Inspired by the early on-board aviation instruments produced by Zenith, the Pilot Type 20 Chronograph Extra Special brings this legendary past to life.
The rustic bronze casing is sized at 45mm, creating an immediately arrestive presence on the wrist. Adorned by the sleek fixed bezel and an imposing screwed in crown, resembling that of antique pocket watches. A matt blue dial features Arabic Numeral hour markers, along with large gold-plated hour and minute hands, coated in Super-LumiNova to ensure clear readability in any condition. Two chronograph counters are placed at 3 o’clock (30-minute counter) and 9 o’clock (Small seconds) with the easily accessible chronograph pushers positioned either side of the large crown. Presented on the blue nubuck oily leather strap, lined with protective rubber for additional durability, finishes the vintage feel that flows through the watch. The admirable Pilot Type 20 Extra Special is a watch based on an established aviation heritage, with a rugged yet handsome appearance.
The titanium case back is engraved with the Zenith flying instruments logo and protects the legendary El Primero 4069 Automatic movement, beating at 36,000 vibrations per hour. The automatic winding enables an impressive power reserve of 50-hours.
