TAG Heuer first launched the precise Carrera Chronograph back in 1963, meaning the collection celebrates its 55th anniversary in 2018. To commemorate this milestone TAG Heuer have unveiled a new chronograph version equipped with a GMT function. This is the first time TAG Heuer have added the GMT complication to its prestigious manufacture movement. The new Carrera Chronograph GMT model adopts the original design and DNA of the 1963 Heuer Carrera, with modern styling and world leading mechanical technology. A tool matching the young generations hunger for travel and adventure.
The new TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph GMT features a steel casing sized at an imposing 45mm in diameter. Set upon the brushed casing is the ceramic, black and blue, 24-hour GMT bezel. The colouring enables the owner to quickly establish whether it is day or night in their home time zone. Along with the bi-coloured bezel, the bright red lacquered GMT hand, filled with white superliminova® has been ingeniously mounted in a secondary position, enabling it to skim the GMT scale for optimum legibility. The ultra-practical second time zone display is simply controlled by the crown. Another stand out feature on the Carrera GMT is the new, ultra-modern skeletonised dial. Combining the old with the new, TAG Heuer have included the original 1963 Carrera 3-6-9 counter layout, a classic feature that perfectly adorns the contemporary architecture. The Rhodium plated applied indexes, minute and hour hands are also filled with the white superluminova® again ensuring supreme legibility. A date window subtlety appears between the 4 & 5 o’clock hour markers. Finally, the handsome Carrera GMT is presented on the brushed steel bracelet.
The manufacture Calibre HEUER02 (C.O.S.C) Automatic movement, with a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, supplies the Carrera Chronograph GMT with an impressive power reserve of 6 days.
