Bremont's creation of the SOLO-32 LC pays homage to Lettice Curtis, who they note to be: "arguably the most remarkable female pilot of the Second World War". An inspiring character, Curtis flew "a wide range of military combat aircraft with the Air Transport Auxiliary and being the first woman to qualify to fly a four-engine bomber".
This particular timepiece is set on a polished and hardened 32mm stainless steel case. This is joined by a silvery dial with traditional Roman numeral indexes.
Regarding the dial, a date window rests at 6 o'clock maintaining the balance and symmetry of the timepiece. The watch hands are blue, making them an eye-catching detail that echoes the colour of the sky.
Internally, the Solo runs on a modified calibre 9’’’ BE-10AE automatic chronometer, which boasts all of the following: 18 jewels, Glucydur balance, Anachron balance spring, Nivaflex 1 mainspring, 28,800bph, and 40-hour power reserve.
Available with a wide variety of bands, this particular watch is finished with a traditional stainless steel bracelet. The Bremont Solo recognises the importance of women in history, and so is an excellent timepiece for the strong and independent women of today.
