Bremont's creation of the SOLO-32 AJ pays homage to Amy Johnson, who they note to be: "one of the English brothers’ childhood heroes [...] who flew her DH-60 Gypsy Moth from England to Australia in 1930." An inspiring lady, Johnson was awarded a CBE, and her accomplishments are globally acknowledged.
This particular timepiece is set on a polished and hardened 32mm stainless steel case. This is joined by a crisp white dial with a mixture of Arabic numerals and dot indexes.
A date window rests at 6 o'clock maintaining the balance and symmetry of the timepiece. The watch hands are silver, echoing the colour palette used throughout the timepiece.
Internally, the Solo runs on a modified calibre 9’’’ BE-10AE automatic chronometer, which boasts all of the following: 18 jewels, Glucydur balance, Anachron balance spring, Nivaflex 1 mainspring, 28,800bph, and 40-hour power reserve.
Available with a wide variety of bands, this particular watch is finished with a red leather strap. The Bremont Solo recognises the importance of women in history, and so is an excellent timepiece for the strong and independent women of today.
