The company continues to implement and enforce effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place anywhere within its business, consistent with its obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
WR Ferris LTD expects the same high standards from its suppliers, contractors and other business partners and expects that its suppliers will in turn hold their own suppliers to the same standards.
All suppliers are required to operate in an ethical and responsible manner, respecting all applicable laws and such laws relating to the Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking. They are required to treat their employees fairly throughout the supply chain; offering good working conditions and reasonable rates of pay.
WR Ferris LTD will only purchase from reputable suppliers who can guarantee the materials are ethically sourced. We will always try to work with suppliers who are members of the Responsible Jewellery Council and our diamond suppliers are required to state the diamonds are conflict free and that they abide by the Kimberly Process before we proceed in any business.
WR Ferris LTD assures compliance in its recruitment process by ensuring all employees are to have ‘Right to Work in the UK’ documentation before proceeding with employment. All employees are paid a competitive wage, are entitled to additional benefits and are paid using PAYE. The Company undergoes regular health and safety visits to each location to ensure the working conditions are safe and compliant.
All employees are encouraged to raise concerns about any issue or suspicion of modern slavery in any part of the Company’s business or supply chains. WR Ferris LTD will support anyone who raises genuine concerns in good faith, even if they turn out to be mistaken. WR Ferris LTD is committed to ensuring no one suffers any detrimental treatment or victimisation as a result of reporting their suspicion that modern slavery is or may be taking place in any part of its business or in any of its supply chains.
WR Ferris LTD have published an internal Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy, which is available to all employees, to ensure we are conducting business in an ethical and transparent manner throughout the company.
Our Buying team is trained in our requirements and will always consider the expectations when exploring new suppliers.
Although we can fully vouch for our immediate processes regarding modern slavery, we at WR Ferris LTD recognise that additional steps can be taken to increase the confidence in our Supply Chains. Due to this, we will publish a ‘Supplier Code of Conduct’ to issue to all suppliers and contractors to ensure they understand our requirements from them, in addition to what they supply us. This will include details of expected business integrity, legal compliance, anti-corruption and all aspects included in modern slavery such as; conflict materials, child labour, health and safety, wages and benefits, voluntary employment etc.
